J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers, a division of Somerset Welding & Steel, was first established in 1958, and began by building steel dump bodies for coal haulers and farmers - the backbone of the local economy at the time. As the economy of the area changed, so did the needs of customers. To answer this need, J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers expanded and diversified its product line, introducing the DynaHauler® series of truck bodies. These precision-engineered truck bodies are built to satisfy the demanding requirements of the most rugged and varied applications. The extensive line of DynaHauler® products includes dump bodies for the light duty chassis or heavy-duty trailers for rock hauling or demolition and excavation work.
By the early 1980s, J&J began manufacturing transfer trailers for solid waste, agricultural, recycling and municipal applications. They manufacture compaction, live floor, tipper, steel lightweight, and push out trailers for commercial and municipal use. These trailers come with many ready-to-work specifications and options that are designed to give customers a dependable and easy-to-use product.
In 2007 J&J began manufacturing pressure vacuum tanks, most commonly used to haul brine water for the natural gas industry.
Facilities & Staff
Employing more than 200 people in three facilities totaling over 260,000 square feet of manufacturing space, J&J is located in Somerset, Pennsylvania, approximately 65 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA at Exit 110 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
